Care, comfort and a positive experience quickly comes to mind when describing my surgical experience with Dr Matthew Smith.
I'm extremely happy with my recent surgical procedure.  Everything from my first office visit through my post op appointments has been nothing but a positive and healthy experience.  The office staff is warm and caring and the attention that I receive from Dr Smith - has been extraordinary.  He's a caring and talented physician.  His bed side manner and his surgical skill are unmatched.   I'm so appreciative that I'm a patient at Great Lakes Plastic Surgery Center.  My only regret - I didn't have the procedure sooner.

To Dr. Matthew Smith,

     It's hard to even express what went through my mind when I was told I had invasive ductile carcinoma, breast cancer stage 1.  Breast cancer runs in my family.  At the age of forty-five, a mammogram detected my cancer.  I was referred to Dr. Matthew Smith by my general surgeon who thought I should talk to him about breast reconstruction.  I walked into Dr. Smith's office confused, in denial and shocked that this could be happening to me.  What I discovered was an awesome staff and I immediately felt comfortable.  Dr. Smith was informative and answered all my questions.  I liked his personality from the start and I appreciated the fact he has a great sense of humor.  I would never want to present a disillusion about breast reconstruction.  Breast reconstruction was time restraining, uncomfortable and emotionally draining.  However, my final results exceeded any expectations. I'm confident and so happy with the new me.  I would encourage any women going through this to be her own advocate and educate herself.  Dr. Matthew Smith is a wonderful surgeon and person.  It's been a long road and not easy but I will be forever grateful!!
